Remember when the internet used to be fun?

In 2014, this platform was used for everything from charity to culture wars to gross acts of nudity. The human race is louder, angrier, shallower, and sometimes funnier than ever before and the stakes are getting higher every day.

Thanks Martin Robbins and VICE for writing the piece that all of us who write about life online wanted to write, if only we could just have blocked out the online chatter long enough to do so.

It's a sign of the times that we no longer get our information from musty old volumes and the daily papers hung on racks with poles. This fall the New York Public Library will seek to bridge broadband access gap between rich and poor and begin lending out wi-fi hotspots that will allow users to access high-speed Internet from their homes.
