In 2014, this platform was used for everything from charity to culture wars to gross acts of nudity. The human race is louder, angrier, shallower, and sometimes funnier than ever before and the stakes are getting higher every day.

This fall the New York Public Library will seek to bridge broadband access gap between rich and poor and begin lending out wi-fi hotspots that will allow users to access high-speed Internet from their homes.

Believe it or don't, AOL still has 2.2 million dial-up subscribers. Thanks in part to those who prefer to live like it’s 1996, AOL’s membership division posted $196 million in revenue this quarter. So, it still pays to dial up. What were you using that old landline for anyways?
