Where is Rush now? Just two weeks ago the arch-conservative talk show host seemed as if he would spontaneously combust, or laugh all the way to the bank. After he villified Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke for "needing so much birth control" she must be a "slut" (or a "prostitute"). Advertisers were either dropping like flies or flocking in droves for a spot on Rush's show. Media Matters takes a look at Rush's real bottom line.

Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke labeled a "slut" by conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh says his apology changes nothing. Last Wednesday, Limbaugh branded Fluke a "slut" for her support of the Obama Administration's new policy on contraception. The radio show host repeated the charges on Thursday, saying: "Well, what would you call someone who wants us to pay for her to have sex? What would you call that woman? You'd call 'em a slut, a prostitute or whatever." Although Limbaugh later issued a lukewarm apology, as many as nine advertisers have pulled their ads from his show.

Customers and listeners have taken to social media to inundate advertisers, stations and sponsors of Limbaugh's radio show with calls to boycott after he made incendiary comments last week about a Georgetown law student who testified before Congress in favor of having birth control covered under insurance plans. Limbaugh called the student, Sandra Fluke, a "slut" and a "prostitute."

This is nuts. (What word would you choose?) A female law student testifies about contraception and within days conservative commentators are sprinting towards their microphones and keyboards in order to find ways to call her a slutty, semen demon?
