Yahoo told dozens of employees at 15 digital publications that they were losing their jobs, part of a larger plan to cut the work force by 15 percent.

With the digital cornucopia of pornography, Playboy’s raison d’être has vanished. Its website dropped nudity last year and soon its magazine will still feature women, but not fully nude.

The move to ditch nudity has already paid off. Online readership is up and the demographic has skewed decidedly millennial, with the average readership age now in the 30s, as opposed to 47.

The very profoundness we absorb in their novels rarely translates into the digital world, where tweets and blog posts can expose a very different (i.e., real) side of writers.
