They are hidden in celebrity photos on Instagram in many of our streaming shows. "Easter eggs" and harvesting them is now integral to our consumption of entertainment. But there’s a fine line between perceptiveness and paranoia.

Years ago, few people conflated technical prowess with physical fitness. The archetypical techie of the early 90s, for instance, was Dennis Nedry, the portly computer programmer in Jurassic Park played by Wayne Knight, a.k.a. "Seinfeld‘s" Newman. In real life, tech titans like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs would never be mistaken for underwear models.

Twenty years later, though the image of the Red Bull-fueled, pizza-consuming, pencil-necked techie lives on, it’s balanced by another strain: The tech Master of the Universe who is not only proficient in Objective-C, but can run a sub-3:30 marathon as well and regularly bikes hundreds of miles over the weekend.

We are fast approaching the day when someone comes out as gay - famous or non - and no one will really care. The day when it makes about as much difference as telling someone you have green eyes or write with your left hand or speak Lithuanian as second langauge. It's something a little interesting, a little different, but nothing that's going to stop the world from turning. That day isn't here quite yet. But when it is, the reaction is likely to be about as dispassionate as that from Madame Secretary. Indeed!

We never know what to expect when we come back online after some downtime on the weekend. For example, a dramatic reading of the Spice Girls "Wannabe" is making the viral rounds. Seriously.
